Science of the Heart ~ Heart Coherence

The heart isn’t just a pump, but something vastly more wondrous and enigmatic  . . . .  like a standing wave.
The heart is a gateway or an energy vortex through which powerful and conscious energy currents flow from luminous light or awareness.

The Article is as such, NOT intended to be a Comprehensive Guide to the Heart Coherence . . .

The heart is intelligent, it thinks and communicates with every cell in the human body through a process known as energetic (electromagnetic) communication.
When the Mind is filtering information such as thoughts it’s not processing sound frequencies like those produced when we open our mouths and speak. The process of comprehending audio and visual phenomenon is taking place in a wholly intangible or non-physical aspect of our-self… the Mind.

The " Mind"  isn’t physical. The Mind is ethereal.

Studies in energetic communication by the heart, which we also refer to as cardio electromagnetic communication shows that heart is the most powerful generator of electromagnetic energy in the human body, producing the largest rhythmic electromagnetic field of any of the body’s organs.

The heart’s electrical field is about 60 times greater in amplitude than the electrical activity generated by the brain. This field, measured in the form of an electrocardiogram (ECG), can be detected anywhere on the surface of the body.
Furthermore, the magnetic field produced by the heart is more than 5,000 times greater in strength than the field generated by the brain and can be detected a number of feet away from the body, in all directions, using SQUID-based magnetometers. Prompted by our findings that the cardiac field is modulated by different emotional states (described in the previous section), we performed several studies to investigate the possibility that the electromagnetic field generated by the heart may transmit information that can be received by others.
Data indicate that one person’s heart signal can affect another’s brainwaves and that heart-brain synchronization can occur between two people when they interact.
Finally, it appears that as individuals increase psychophysiological coherence, they become more sensitive to the subtle electromagnetic signals communicated by those around them.
Taken together, these results suggest that cardio-electromagnetic communication may be a little-known source of information exchange between people and that this exchange is influenced by our emotions.

The Insightful Heart: Living from the Heart

From the quantum perspective, the universe is a meshwork of interconnecting interference patterns of energy fields.
Because our own energy field is amplified during emotional highs we have a far greater sensitivity to the vibrational universe.

In Biology of Belief, Bruce Lipton says that receptors read vibrational energy fields such as light, sound and radio frequencies, and if the receptor is attuned to the particular frequency it can alter the proteins and change the shape of the receptor. This is one of the ways our cells are impacted by the vibrational Universe. "Thought waves" and "emotional waves" being of obvious importance in the field effect on biology. We are immersed in living fields of vibrational information.

"Specific frequencies and patterns of electromagnetic radiation regulate DNA, RNA and protein syntheses, alter protein shame and function, and control gene regulation, cell division, cell differentiation, morphogenesis (the process by which cells assemble into organs and tissues), hormone secretion, nerve growth, and function."

~ Bruce Lipton, Biology of Belief ~

Considering that the body's energy field and the heart, in particular, is greatly enhanced by the extra nerve flow and metabolism of highly emotional/ enlightened states, we can assume that there is increased informational communication via energy waves and the alteration of receptors and all body processes.
There is a self-reinforcing feedback loop between the generation of increased field and the supernal alteration of body tissue.

The sensory organ that perceives "soul" is the heart.

The heart sense works by aesthetes, or by "breathing in."

Cardiac Coherence

It is common knowledge that heartbeats and heart rate are linked to emotions:
Progress made in neuro-anatomy proved an intimate heart-brain brain-heart connexion working permanently in a feedback loop.

The heart receives information from the emotional and visceral part of the brain, the limbic system composed of areas that are information treatment centers like the hippocampus and amygdala.
It also sends information in return for its own condition.

Two decades ago it was assumed that a perfectly regular cardiac rhythm, meaning that the time between two heartbeats was always identical and regular on a long period, was a token for good health.
Breakthrough in research and cutting-edge technology allowed the development of heart rate variability measurement (HRV).

It was then demonstrated that the more chaotic the heartbeats were (within limits) the more information was transmitted to the heart’s nervous centers.

A heart that has perfect regular heartbeats is a heart that doesn’t transmit essential information when conditions around are changing, it is a heart in deadly danger.

Communication of information is essential to survival, so is it for the heart.

Heart rate variability is controlled by:
  • the autonomic nervous system (sympathetic nerve as an accelerator and parasympathetic as the brake)
  • neurotransmitters, endorphins (opioids: molecules of emotion, molecules of natural pleasure and rewards), exorphins (food opioids)
  • respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) is the training of the heart rate by breathing, through activation of the parasympathetic nerve.

What is cardiac coherence?

Cardiac coherence is the coupling and synchronization of the rhythm of breathing to the rhythm of the heart.
Deep and even breathing can increase heart rate fluctuations and respiratory sinus arrhythmia through a better sympathetic/parasympathetic balance.

Cardiac coherence reflects high figures in HRV, but there is more to that!

When cardiac coherence is established within the body there is synchronization with other systems inside and outside the body.
People have high HRV figures and are in good health because the autonomic system is balanced.

The Heart's Code
by Paul P Pearsall
Crown Publishing Group | April 6, 1999 | Trade Paperback

According to Dr. Paul Pearsall, a clinical psychologist, the heart is more than a pump, more than the most powerful muscle in the human body. Using research from many fields, interviews with transplant patients and their families, and his own experiences as cancer and bone marrow transplant survivor, the prolific author contends that the heart thinks, feels, remembers, and communicates with other hearts.

Are you a head or a heart person? The future of civilization may depend on the answer. Dr. Pearsall sees the heart as the source of that mysterious "fifth force" of energy in the universe — a nonlocal, invisible form of info-energy that the brain finds very difficult to accept. The heart's code builds "a bridge between the biochemical wonders of modern medicine, the spirituality of ancient traditional healing systems, the various alternative or complementary medicines, and the wisdom of religious scholars and spiritual leaders." Dr. Pearsall's speculations open the door for readers to consider afresh the importance of cellular memory, loving connections, prayer, laughter, and healing.
A fascinating synthesis of ancient wisdom, modern medicine, scientific research, and personal experiences that proves that the human heart, not the brain, holds the secrets that link body, mind, and spirit.

You know that the heart loves and feels, but did you know that the heart also thinks, remembers, communicates with other hearts, helps regulate immunity, and contains stored information that continually pulses through your body? In The Heart''s Code, Dr. Paul Pearsall explains the theory and science behind energy cardiology, the emerging field that is uncovering one of the most significant medical, social, and spiritual discoveries of our time: The heart is more than just a pump; it conducts the cellular symphony that is the very essence of our being.

Full of amazing anecdotes and data, The Heart's Code presents the latest research on cellular memory and the power of the heart's energy and explores what these breakthroughs mean about how we should live our lives. By unlocking the heart's code we can discover new ways of understanding human healing and consciousness and create a new model for living that leads to better health, happiness, and self-knowledge.
